Team Organization
During the summer of 2019, scheduled meetings took place on weekdays from 9 AM to 12 PM. Additionally, we have scheduled to meet for approximately 7 hours during the school week. We will have a 1-hour class period devoted to the SFHS Magnet DIY Girls Invent Team, so we will be able to meet daily during school hours. We also meet on Wednesdays after school from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM; however, we might stay longer if needed. Lastly, we plan to meet at least once a month on a Saturday for about three to four hours.
Our team will organize group assignments through various methods. Communication is commonly composed via email, Slack or within the class, depending on the other members that are participating in said assignment. The Slack application includes all team members and provides updates related to important information, upcoming events, task updates, and mandatory meeting information. Google Drive is also used as an organizational tool used by each subgroup as it provides storage and remote access to all documents related to our project.

Group Collaboration
Additionally, we have gathered support from various faculty members including our school principal, Mrs. Florentina Mendoza, and Magnet Coordinator, Ms. Violet Mardirosian. Our team is also fortunate to have a designated class period supervised by Ms. Mardirosian, and incorporated into our daily class schedules. This space allows us to think, collaborate, and innovate in an amiable environment.
The SFHS InvenTeam also has the on-going support of the DIY Girls organization. The Director of Programs, Cristina Gutierrez, Program Coordinator, Stacey Coria, Engineering Mentor, Melvin Fuentes, and Volunteer Computer Engineer, Luis Luna continuously provide support with access to resources, engineering and technical questions. Additionally, we have obtained support from San Fernando High School Alumni, which include: Councilwoman Nury Martinez and DIY Girls founder, Assembly Member Luz Rivas. We have also have SFHS/MIT alumni willing to help make our project possible, these alumni include Evelyn Gomez (Class of 2010) and Jesus Perez (Class of 1999).
